Analog Output Devices

Analog output devices connected to a PLC module control actuators and other devices using continuous signals, including:

  • control valves,
  • variable speed drives (VSDs) for motors,
  • pneumatic positioners,
  • electric heaters, and
  • variable voltage or current suppliers.

The PLC module sends either a voltage signal (e.g., 0-10V, -10 to +10V) or a current signal (e.g., 4-20mA) to these devices to manage processes by precisely adjusting power or flow.
